CRYPT OF SANTA RESTITUTA

It is said that this cave is the place where Saint Restituta was imprisoned and killed.

The cave is partially natural and partially man made.

The crypt has had different uses over the centuries: a quarry, a cemetery and a church.

The crypt consists of one large room which is connected to the exterior by two staircases carved in the rocks.

On the altar there is an ancient marble statue of Saint Restituta.
