CRYPT OF SAINT AGOSTINO

The crypt is an underground room that was part of the ancient church of St. Agostino.

In 504, the relics of Saint Agostino were preserved in this crypt.

The relics of the Saint were shipped in from Africa by bishop Fulgenzio.

The relics were moved to Pavia in 772.

In the crypt, over an altar covered with coloured marble, is the statue of the Saint.
