Cagliari’s city walls were rebuilt in 1576.

The old church of Saint Agostino was demolished in order to rebuild the city walls.

The new church was funded by the king of Spain.

The church has the shape of a star with a dome in the center.

Inside there is a golden wood altar and the 1500 wooden statue of Saint Agostino.
