CASTLE OF SAN MICHELE

The castle was built on the hill of San Michele, around 1100.


It sheltered the city of Cagliari from outside invasions.


Around the middle of 1300 it became the home of the Spanish family Carroz.

The castle was surrounded by a moat.


The entrance to the castle was a bridge that could be lifted and lowered.


The castle has three towers at the corners of the exterior walls.


Today the castle is an exhibition center.
