The Amphitheatre was probably built in the second century after Christ.

It would seat ten thousand people.

This Amphitheatre was partly excavated in the rock and partly built by man.

The Amphitheatre hosted fights between gladiators and animals as well as plays.

At the end of 1990 the Amphitheatre was covered with wooden terraces and used for concerts and plays.

The wooden terraces have since been demolished.

Currently the Amphitheatre is an archaeological site only.
