The church was built in 1500 by the Capuchin friars together with the nearby cloister.

It is also known as Church of Saint Ignazio of Laconi because it contains the tomb of the Sardinian Saint.

The interior of the church is very simple, with three chapels on the right side and a barrel-shaped ceiling.

On the left wall there is a large Crucifix.
